This is only my second attempt at a carved front and back instrument and it’s been a long time in the making. Built under the expert eye of Richard Osborne it has turned out extremely well. All thanks to Richard. I’ve been playing it for a couple of months now and the sound has taken some time to develop. It started of quite “woody” but has now acquired a real sparkle, a bright clear tone and plenty of volume. Everything I’d want from a mandolin. And very pretty.
Loosely based on a Lyon and Healy design from the early 20th Century.
